Learn how Fuse allows you the flexibility to have your employees send emails from their preferred names.
This article covers the relationship between employee names within Fuse and AMS360. If you haven’t yet integrated AMS360 with your Fuse product, please review this Help Center article.
Once you’ve integrated your AMS360 data with Fuse, all agency employees are automatically created as users within Fuse based on their AMS360 employee record. After the user is initially created, their display name is entirely up to them!
AMS360 Employee Names and Fuse User Employee Names
After the initial creation of the Fuse user from AMS360 data, the user’s “Name” field within Fuse is no longer attached to the name of that employee in AMS360. This means two key things:
- Changing the name of the employee in AMS360 will not cause the name of the correlated user to change in Fuse.
- Changing the name of the user in Fuse will not cause the name of the correlated Employee to change in AMS360.
We do this to allow Fuse users to change their names in Fuse, ensuring any emails Fuse sends on their behalf will use their preferred name, written the way they would like customers to see it. This keeps things personalized!
If an employee has a legal name change, updating that employee’s name in AMS360 will not overwrite their name in Fuse. Meaning, you’ll need to change their name in both systems.
Example: Elizabeth Smith is an agent at your agency. Her AMS360 employee record has her full name, Elizabeth, but clients know her best as “Beth.” She may update her Fuse user “Name” field so that all emails sent by Fuse on her behalf come from “Beth Smith.”
If you would like to change the “Name” field on your Fuse user account, simply navigate to the “User Details” screen by clicking on the gear icon at the top right corner of the workspace and selecting your profile name from the options.
