What Do "At Launch," "Ongoing," and "In The Future" Mean When Building Fuse Campaigns?

When building campaigns in Fuse, we offer three different sequence subscription methods to help you target the right audience.

Within Fuse, there are three available sequence subscription methods to help determine the audience of your campaign: "At Launch," "Ongoing," and "In The Future." Each of these three options behaves a little differently, to help you customize your campaigns as needed.

At Launch

When selecting, "At Launch," you are asking Fuse to add Accounts who are in the segment at launch and lock the audience. Meaning, when you launch your campaign, all subscribers matching segments are added. No more, no less.

If you pause your "At Launch" sequence, the audience does not change. When you resume the sequence, accounts still matching your segment remain in sequence, no one new is added, and any existing accounts who no longer match the segment are removed.

The resume behavior is the same as the relaunch behavior for "At Launch" sequences.

At any time, you can manually remove people from this audience.

Ongoing

When selecting, "Ongoing," you are asking Fuse to add Accounts at launch and update the audience over time.

If you pause your "Ongoing" sequence, the audience does not change. When you resume the sequence, Accounts still matching your segment remain in sequence. As well, Accounts newly matching your segment are added and those no longer matching are removed. If you relaunch an "Ongoing" sequence, it behaves the same way as if you resumed it.

At any time, you can manually remove people from this audience.

In The Future

When selecting "In the Future," you are telling Fuse to wait until people meet additional criteria, in the form of Triggers, before adding them to your audience. As well, Accounts are removed from this audience based on "Remove When" Triggers.

This means that upon launching an "In The Future" sequence, no one is immediately added to your audience. When pausing this sequence, no one is added nor removed.

Should you resume an "In The Future" campaign, no one gets added to the audience. Instead,  if your sequence uses the “Remove when not match segments,” trigger, all Accounts no longer matching the segments are removed. All other existing, matching Accounts remain in sequence. Relaunching has the same behavior.
